米国にて、同棲を始める理由は？
私は、同棲を始める理由は、単純に一緒にいたい時間を長く共有するためだと
思っていました。
また結婚の際、一緒に生活してから結婚した方が、
相手のことをよく知った上で結婚するので、
結婚に失敗しないためなのかな、とも思っておりました。

オハイオ州立大学社会学部シャロン・サスラー助教授をリーダーとするチームが、「恋人達が同棲を始める理由」についてニューヨーク市で調査を行い研究結果を発表した。
調査対象となったカップル達のほとんどが、その理由について"結婚を考えて"ではなく、"金銭上の利点(家賃の折半など)"を考えて同棲を始めたと答えた。
お互い一人暮らしであった場合、一緒に生活した方が、
部屋代や光熱費が約半分になるので、
金銭上の利点は大きいように思いますね。
そういう理由で同棲するんですかぁ。
ということは、同棲というより、ルームメイトに近いんでしょうね。
逆にいうと、別れたくなっても金銭上、
家賃の支払いなどがきつくなったりするので、
別れられないカップルも多かったりして(笑)
